This 16-slide presentation builds on students' understanding of tradiciones, costumbres y valores sociales and introduces the 3 P’s of Culture: products, practices, and perspectives. Students learn what each concept means, identify examples, explore the connections among them, and analyze how cultural products and practices can reveal the values and perspectives of a community.

Students will learn to:

  • Define and differentiate productos, prácticas y perspectivas culturales.
  • Identify examples of cultural products, including tangible and intangible products.
  • Explain how tradiciones y costumbres are examples of cultural practices.
  • Understand cultural perspectives as the ways people in a culture see and understand the world.

  • Explain how products, practices, and perspectives can represent, teach, reinforce, and explain cultural values.
  • Connect the 3 P’s to traditions, customs, and social values.
  • Apply their learning to their own family and community.
